WE TURN YOUR

CITY PARK INTO

A MUSEUM

As was to be expected, forests, as we have known them, have practically disappeared from the earth’s surface. Only a few tree reserves remain, small spaces for the study, protection and conservation of the few species that have been saved. They are, in short, spaces dedicated to the memory and dissemination, thematic museums that remember the holocaust suffered by a form of life that came to populate the entire surface of the earth. The chronicle of a genocide proclaimed by scientists that human beings did not want to listen to. And we are not talking about a distant future, which will come and that perhaps we will not know, nor are we talking about the inheritance we will leave to our descendants, no … we are talking about the immediate future, it could be tomorrow. EME, our Ecocide Memorial Space is one of these unique and singular spaces with a lot to offer to its visitors.

INSPIRATION SPRINGS
IN ITS FORESTS, ON ITS PEAKS,
IN ITS RIVERS AND OCEANS…
WE ARE WHAT WE ARE
BECAUSE OF WHAT NATURE
HAS GIVEN US

The visit to our Ecocide Memorial Space is accompanied at all times by an application for cell phones that is downloaded at the entrance of the space through a Qr code. Available for iOS and Android, the app contains complementary information of all kinds to make the visit a unique experience.

The application becomes a very useful tool, which in addition to additional information about the show, contains a series of playful and educational sections on the central theme of the play accessible outside the context of the performance itself.

Frequent

questions

How can I programme XX?

You can programme it as three separated actions in three separate moments or as a Forum Theatre with 15 minutes of discussion between actions to allow for costume and scenery changes.

How long does it last?

Floretes: +/- 17 minutes

Florera: +/- 20 minutes

Flowerless: +/- 23 minutes

All three together in a Forum Theatre session: 1h 50′.

Where can I programme it?

In a square, in an outdoor public space, in a multi-purpose hall or in theatres where the stage is lower than the grades…

Can I programme it in an Italian-style theatre?

We have never done it, we have no experience in that space. Maybe the Forum Theatre formula will also work in this type of theatre.

What technical requirements are needed?

In the street:

With daylight, none. At night, it depends on whether the space is sufficiently lit or not.

In multi-purpose halls:

Lighting.

In Forum Theatre version:

Sound equipment and microphones to allow discussion among the audience.

¿What are the logistic needs?

A wide space, without traffic where both the play and the audience fit. And a place where the cast can change their clothes and use the bathroom.

¿Is there a stage needed?

No

¿Any measurements of the stage space?

The play gets adapted to the already existant space. To consult in case of any doubt.

¿Is it a specific show made for children?

No

¿Are children able to come?

Sure. And mostly with parents, they will be able to solve questions about what they have just seen.

¿Is it possible to reproduce it in a school?

So far it has been performed for high school students with a spectacular result, both in terms of the applause received and the comments from the teachers attending and even from parents who, without being present, have congratulated us on the work, as their children have raised a topic of conversation at home that has helped them all to reflect on microsexism.

What techniques do you use during the performance?

They are performative techniques that make the character evolve.

Floretes: Syllabic poetry. Only six words are used.

Florera: Onomatopoeic poetry. Manipulation of puppets.

Flowerless: Clown language with onomatopoeia.
