About us

Do we really have to reduce Street performances to mere entertainment? As theatre professionals we rebel against an affirmative answer to that question. The street should be a space in which artistic performances can have the same strength, variety and quality as those performed in theatres. That is why Paula Escamilla, Manuel V. Vilanova and Leandre Escamilla (Xarxa Teatre) decided to create impressive plays that may help make the audience reflect on the issues portrayed. The proposal to achieve this objective is called Escandall Teatral. The “escandallo” (sounder) is a device used by sailors to measure the depth of the water they navigate. In our case we want to measure the level of tolerance and the capacity for reflection of our audience.
